Explore the stream and relax in the natural spa temperature waters as you enjoy a complimentary beverage and nibbles. A truly unique bathing experience that is worlds apart from the mass tourist hot pools in the city. This tour operates in small groups with a maximum of 6 persons per guide in order to maintain a wilderness and exclusive feel during the tour. All kayaking equipment is provided along with friendly, professional safe and overqualified kayaking guides. A moderate level of fitness is required for this 6km return paddle.

  • 2 days (12pm to 2-8pm following day)

Explore the shorelines of Lake Tarawera and enjoy the amazing views of Mount Tarawera as you paddle your way past exotic regenerating forest with numerous large Pohutukawa trees and unique birdlife on the way to a natural hot water beach. Explore hidden pools in the streams and rock formations and relax in the rejuvenating spas created by nature. A truly unique bathing experience that is worlds apart from the mass tourist hot pools in the city. As night falls your guide will prepare a kiwi wilderness meal as you relax with a cool beverage and nibbles. Small alpine tents are provided for the overnight stay and are prepared by your expert outdoor guide. This tour operates in small groups with a maximum of 6 persons per guide in order to maintain a wilderness and exclusive feel during the tour. All kayaking, camping equipment along with food and water is provided. Our friendly, professional, safe and customer experience focused kayaking guides will ensure you have the absolute best time possible. A moderate level of fitness is required for this 12km one-way paddle. If the weather turns bad, there is no need to panic as there is an easy water taxi option for pick-up.
